Facelift – Facial Plastic Surgery

Facelift – Facial Cosmetic Surgery in Turkey

Facelift or Facial Plastic Surgery and what we should know about it.

A whole lot of things depend on the way you look. No doubt appearances are deceptive, but they are the gateway to success in some cases. Regardless of all these things, people crave to have a perfect looking, immaculate face that would exude an aura of confidence when they go out.

Whether it is scars left behind because of severe acne or whether it is with facial hair that makes you feel embarrassed when in a huge crowd or the problem of pigmentation or the blemishes on your facial skin that has been brought about by your age… A full face laser surgery can help you. Wart removal, freckles removal, and skin whitening are a few of the areas where this kind of surgery is going to help.

In this laser surgery, the upper layers of the facial skin are removed with the help of laser which has a direct bearing on the way skin will appear post-surgery. In addition to the problems mentioned above, this surgical procedure is found to be helpful in tackling wrinkles, mild scarring as well as the damage caused to the skin by the sun.

The procedure also helps in tightening the skin and even out the pigmentation. Even if there are scars left out after a bout of chicken pox or after a bout of acne, they can be treated well with this procedure.

Facelift Surgery in Turkey:

A facelift is a surgical operation intended to rejuvenate the face. The operation is exceptionally effective and stretches not only the facial skin but also the layers underneath.

In its extended version, face rejuvenation may also be accompanied by correction of wrinkles in the neck area, if necessary. A facelift is among the most complex operations in plastic surgery, it is performed under general anesthesia, and lasts from 3 to 6 hours.

When Is Facelift Necessary?

Generally, the age limit in the traditional lifting is over 45 years for women and over 55 for men. Better results are achieved with patients who have a small layer of subcutaneous fat in the facial area. When there is excessive skin on the face by over 1 cm, a facelift is deemed a suitable procedure.

Before the Facial Plastic Surgery:

Immediately before the surgery, the necessary medical tests are performed; you have a conversation with and are examined by the surgeon. Ten days before the surgery, you must stop the intake of aspirin and herbal teas, vitamins and blood thinners. 8 hours before surgery, you must stop smoking; you should not take any liquids and food.

Risks:

During the operation, there is a risk of damaging a branch of the facial nerve, mainly as a result of the swelling or a peripheral lesion, yet it goes away after the operation. Infection is a postoperative risk. The scars after the operation are barely noticeable as they are behind the ear or in the hairy parts of the head.

Recovery:

Immediately after the surgery, the following may occur temporary bluish color to the skin and swelling, numbness, and pain. The swelling is at its high 4-5 days after the operation and disappears around day 10, sometimes earlier.

The bluish color, if any, usually disappears in 10-12 days. You may go back to work and your daily activities in 2 weeks.

What is a Mini Facelift?

As we grow older, the akin covering the fatty tissue on our faces begins to loosen and sag in various places.

This ‘loosening of skin’ produces wrinkles and enhances skin folds of the face and this is why mini-facelifts are more appropriate for people who show signs of aging in the mid-face only, without a severe amount of excess skin around their jawline and neck. Mini facelifts do not stop the aging process; they merely set the clock back a while.

When considering a mini-facelift, it should be remembered that the procedure will leave you younger and fresher looking, however, more extensive techniques can give a better correction (and long term) of the aging changes in the face.

You can discuss your goals, budget, and risk tolerance with your surgeon to decide on the plan that is best for you. In many cases, a mini-facelift is performed along with other procedures, such as brow and forehead lifts, eyelid surgery, facial liposuction, chin augmentation and nose surgery, for an overall more satisfying appearance.

Who is a Suitable Candidate for Facial Plastic Surgery?

One or more of the following conditions may indicate that you are a good candidate for a facelift:

  1. A deep line or fold, running from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth.
  2. A slight jowl, or loss of a well-defined jawline.
  3. Wrinkles in the cheeks and sagging of the ‘highlight’ areas of the cheekbones.

How Long Does a Mini-Facial Plastic Surgery Last?

While a younger appearance can be achieved with a mini-facelift procedure; the aging process will not stop. The results of a mini-facelift are in reality not as long lasting as those of a full facelift procedure. No guarantee can be given by anyone as to how long a mini-facelift will satisfy a patient.

Where Are the Scars Placed During a Mini-Facelift?

The scars from mini-facelifts usually fade becoming barely perceptible. An advantage is that sometimes scars may be as little as one-half the length of traditional face-lifts.

What is the Difference Between a Mini-Facelift and a Full Facelift?

A mini face-lift has a shorter, much more limited incision than that of a traditional face-lift. The incisions used are shorter.

How is the Mini-Facelift Procedure Performed?

Incisions usually begin above the hairline at the temples; follow the natural line in front of the ear and membrane, then the skin is pulled back, and the excess removed. Stitches secure the layers of tissue and close the incisions.

  • Duration of operation – 1 hour (general anesthesia).
  • Hospital stay: 0-1 night.

What to Expect Immediately After Surgery?

Mini-facelifts can be performed quickly, and with little risk, however, you should consider that the degree of correction achieved by these lifts is also less. A 7-night stay is recommended in Turkey following a mini-facelift procedure. Most people can return to work within two weeks of their surgery.

However, final results will take longer to be seen. The face and head may feel tight and sore, and it will be wrapped in bandages to help minimize bruising and swelling for the first 24 to 48 hours.

Initially, you may feel emotional or cold, but these feelings are temporary. Bruising and swelling are common after face and neck surgery but both feelings and appearance are transient, and usually start to subside after the first week.

How Can I Hide the Signs of the Facial Plastic Surgery?

Camouflage cosmetics, including concealer, contour shadow, and color corrector may be used. Lavender neutralizes or removes yellow, and green has a similar effect on red.

How Long Will It Be Before I Return to My Normal Life?

Most patients can return to work in one to two weeks after a mini facelift procedure. You should allow four weeks before major social engagements.
